Privacy Policy for JSON Converter

JSON Converter ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a general-purpose application for converting and formatting JSON files into readable text and other supported formats.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, how third-party services may process information, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Process

JSON Converter is designed to process your JSON data locally on your device.

We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or analyzes the contents of your JSON files.

When you select files from your device, the App may access those files only to read and convert them. Converted files are saved to the folder selected by you.

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

  • Application settings, such as language and theme preferences.
  • The output folder selected by you.
  • Recently used file names.
  • Saved conversion templates and formatting preferences.
  • Conversion credits.
  • The local status of completed in-app purchases.

This locally stored information is not transmitted to us or stored on a server operated by us. You can remove local application data by using your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

2. Importing JSON from a URL

The App allows you to import JSON data from a URL that you provide.

When you use this feature:

  • The App connects directly to the URL entered by you.
  • The server hosting the URL may receive your IP address and standard network request information.
  • The server hosting the URL may process your request according to its own privacy policy.
  • We do not control how an external server processes your request.
  • The downloaded JSON data is processed locally by the App and is not uploaded to a server operated by us.

You should only import data from URLs that you trust and are authorized to access.

3. App Permissions

Depending on your Android version and the operation you perform, the App may request permission to access storage or selected files.

These permissions are used to:

  • Read JSON files selected by you.
  • Save converted files to a location selected by you.
  • Access files or folders required for the conversion process.

The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.

4. Advertising Services

The App uses Google Mobile Ads to display banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded ads.

Google Mobile Ads may process information such as:

  • Device and operating system information.
  • Advertising identifiers or other device identifiers.
  • IP address and approximate location inferred from network information.
  • Ad interactions and diagnostic information.
  • Information related to ad performance and fraud prevention.

The processing of this information is performed by Google according to Google's policies and terms.

Where consent is required, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage your consent choices before requesting ads.

You can:

  • Consent to personalized advertising where available.
  • Decline consent.
  • Manage or change your advertising privacy choices.

The App includes a Privacy Options section in the Settings page where you can change your consent choices when privacy options are available in your region.

If you do not consent to personalized advertising, Google may still show non-personalized or limited ads where permitted and available.

5. Firebase Crashlytics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to help us identify and fix application crashes and technical problems.

Crashlytics may collect information such as:

  • Crash reports and stack traces.
  • Device model and operating system version.
  • Application version and installation information.
  • Diagnostic information related to the crash.
  • App instance identifiers and technical information needed to investigate errors.

This information is used to diagnose crashes, improve application stability, and fix technical issues.

Crashlytics processes this information according to Google's and Firebase's privacy terms.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers optional one-time purchases through Google Play Billing to remove certain advertisements.

All payment processing is handled by Google Play. We do not receive or store your credit card number, bank information, or other payment credentials.

The App may receive information such as:

  • The purchased product identifier.
  • The purchase status.
  • Whether a purchase has been restored or completed.

The App stores the local entitlement status on your device so that the relevant advertisements can be disabled. Google Play remains responsible for payment processing and purchase information.

The App may provide an optional donation feature through PayPal.

If you choose to make a donation, the App opens PayPal's website or payment page. Any information you provide to PayPal is handled directly by PayPal according to its own privacy policy.

We do not receive or store your PayPal password, payment card number, or complete payment details.

The App may also open external links, such as application or developer links. Once you leave the App, the privacy practices of the external website apply.

8. Data Retention

JSON files, converted files, saved templates, settings, recent file names, and local application data remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.

We do not operate a backend server for storing your JSON files or converted documents.

Information processed by Google Mobile Ads, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play, PayPal, or other third-party services is retained and handled by those services according to their own policies.

9. Children's Privacy

JSON Converter is a general-purpose application and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The App does not require users to create an account or provide their name, email address, age, photographs, contacts, or location.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the App and its local data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure.

Because JSON processing is performed locally, the security of files stored on your device also depends on the security settings and protection of your device.

11. Your Privacy Choices

You can control your privacy choices by:

  • Declining or managing advertising consent when the Google UMP message is displayed.
  • Opening the Settings page and selecting Privacy Options when available.
  • Disabling or limiting advertising identifiers through your Android device settings.
  • Deleting local application data or uninstalling the App.
  • Choosing whether to use the URL import feature.
  • Choosing which files and folders to provide to the App.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements.
